Your safety while travelling is of utmost importance. For this reason, Tenacious Traveller constantly monitors travel news and safety alerts around the globe. We make every effort to stay informed about world events and have a strong network of local connections with whom we confer for the most up-to-date information.
In addition, each of our travellers is enrolled in the U.S. State Department's Safe Traveller Enrollment Program (S.T.E.P.). The S.T.E.P. program is a free service offered by the U.S. government that allows travellers to be registered with the State Department and U.S. embassies around the globe during a specified travel time. Once you have been enrolled in the program, you will receive important information from the U.S. State Department about safety conditions of your destination country. Enrollment in the program will also allow local embassies to reach travellers in the event of an emergency, whether a natural disaster, civil unrest or a family emergency. It also allows family members to get in touch in the event of an emergency while you are travelling.
The U.S. State Department has a wealth of other resources to help you plan for your trip. Check out the U.S. Passports and International Travel page for a Traveller's Check List, Destination Information, Personal Safety, and Your Health Abroad. This page also has current travel alerts and warnings. And for more info on travelling safely, check out our Staying Safe Tips page!
